Overview

Brave Browser is a fast, privacy-focused web browser built on Chromium — the same open-source project behind Google Chrome. Unlike most browsers, Brave automatically blocks ads, trackers, cookies, and fingerprinting scripts that invade your privacy. This means pages load faster, your data stays private, and your browsing feels cleaner.

Brave also rewards users with its optional Brave Rewards system, allowing you to earn Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing privacy-respecting ads. It includes a built-in Brave Wallet for managing cryptocurrencies and Web3 assets directly from the browser.

This package provides Brave Browser in .xdeb format — specially designed for xdeb-based systems (derived from Debian Testing). It can be installed easily either via the terminal or the file manager (Dolphin).

Why Brave?

  • Built-in Ad Blocker — No need for third-party extensions.
  • Privacy by Default — Blocks trackers, cross-site cookies, and malicious scripts.
  • Up to 3x Faster — By removing ads and background trackers, Brave loads pages significantly faster than most browsers.
  • Secure by Design — Uses Chromium’s sandboxing and multi-process architecture.
  • Earn Rewards — Optional Brave Rewards lets you earn tokens for viewing private ads.
  • Web3 Ready — Comes with an integrated crypto wallet and decentralized web support.
  • Import Everything Easily — You can import bookmarks, history, and settings from Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

How to Install

You can install Brave Browser using the terminal or by simply double-clicking the file:

  • From Terminal: sudo packagewizard brave-browser_x.y.z_amd64.xdeb
  • From Dolphin: Double-click the .xdeb file to open the Xdeb Package Wizard.

Once installed, you can open Brave from the Application Menu or run brave-browser in the terminal.
